Research in the Laboratory
DNA is continuously subject to damage by endogenous and environmental agents. If not repaired, DNA damage interferes with DNA replication and transcription, resulting in cell death and mutations. Our current research interests focus on (i) elucidating the elaborate DNA repair mechanism to mitigate the deleterious effects of superbulky DNA lesions and (ii) understanding the response of the replication and transcription machinery upon encountering such lesions.
